Lahore police arrest two main accused over foreign girl’s gang-rape

The police in Lahore have arrested two main accused in connection with gangrape of a foreign girl in Defence area, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Monday.

The two accused, Tanveer and Mohsin, were arrested by police from Ravi Road and Sundar areas on Sunday night.

Defence-C police on Saturday last registered a case against three unidentified men on charges of subjecting an Azeri girl to gang rape.

The 20-year-old Azeri girl, Diana, was visiting Pakistan for business purposes and was residing in a house near Raiwind Road. She filed an application with the police stating that two women approached her for dinner. They went to a café where three men met them. She could identify the men and women by face.

She said the men offered her and two other women to drive and they later took her to an unidentified flat. She said they consumed alcohol and she was also served some intoxicating material and fell unconscious.

Diana said three men allegedly gang-raped her and later locked her in the flat till 2pm. She said the suspects came back and dropped her near Ghazi Interchange and fled the scene.

She said the suspects also took away her mobile phone and other luggage. She demanded action against the suspects. Defence-C police registered a case against the three suspects and started the investigation.

Now, the police have apprehended the two main accused while they were conducting raids to arrest the third accused who was identified as Umar, sources in the police said.

The police had already detained two people including the two girls who invited the Azeri girl to dinner.
