NCCIA raids call centre in Rawalpindi, arrests 61 staffers
The National Cybercrime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) has raided an illegal call centre in Rawalpindi on Monday and arrested 61 employees, also seizing 71 mobile phones and 155 laptops, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
The raid was mounted in commercial market located in Satellite Town area of Rawalpindi.
The accused were involved in foreign loan recovery scheme fraud and extort money for people after intimidating them.
The NCCIA lodged a case against them and launched an investigation.
NCCIA director general has maintained that the illegal call centres are a threat to the country’s credibility.
He declared that the NCCIA will continue its impartial crackdown against the elements involved in cyber fraud.
He urged the public to inform about cyber crimes on helpline 1799 or report to the nearby NCCIA circle.
