Supreme Court grants bail to PAEC driver in murder case

The Supreme Court on Monday granted bail to a driver of Pakistan Atomic Energy Commission (PAEC) in connection with a murder case, reported 24NewsHDTV channel.

A two-member bench of the apex court, headed by Justice Jamal Khan Mandokhel, approved the bail application of Ayaz Mahmood.

The defence lawyer informed the court that the accused was neither present at the crime nor he had any role in the murder case. There was no mention of his name even in the FIR, he added.

State prosecutor said the accused helped the other accused by shifting them to a government’s vehicle.

He further said the government vehicle has been withdrawn from the accused. He was in contact with other accused at the time of the murder, he added.

Meanwhile, the Supreme Court has rejected the bail application of a seminary teacher for assaulting a student.

Justice Jamal Khan Mandokhel rejected the bail application of Zain Ali, case against who was registered in Taxila.

The judge ruled that the accused has been charge-sheeted and he has to prove his innocent during trial now.
