NEOC reports significant decrease in spread of polio virus in Pakistan

The National Emergency Operations Center (NEOC) has reported a significant decrease in the spread of polio virus due to the February and April polio campaigns, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

The second national polio campaign was successfully held from April 21 to 27 of this year. During the campaign, more than 45 million children were vaccinated with polio drops.

In Azad Kashmir, Punjab, and Sindh, 100% of children were vaccinated, while in Balochistan, 102% of children received the vaccine. 

In Islamabad, 106% of children were vaccinated, and in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Gilgit-Baltistan, 101% of children were vaccinated.

The third national polio campaign of 2025 will be held in May. The NEOC is urging parents to continue cooperating with polio workers and ensure that all children under the age of five receive the polio drops during every campaign.
