Nadia Afghan gets nostalgic about sitcom Shashlik
Veteran actress Nadia Afghan took a nostalgic trip down memory lane as she revisited her beloved sitcom Shashlik, sharing behind the scenes moments and vivid memories from the iconic series.
Posting a throwback video featuring her character Mishi alongside Cheekoo, Nadia wrote that 2000s kids would remember Shashlik as a "super duper hit" sitcom whose songs echoed in homes across Pakistan.
She added that when the show returned in 2011, the audience fell in love with it all over again.
The actress said she deeply misses the days spent filming the sitcom, recalling the laughter, chaos and magic shared on set.
Nadia also paid tribute to writer and director Sarmad Khoosat, calling him "the best thing to happen" to her as well as Pakistan's drama and film industry.
She thanked him for creating the memorable characters of Cheekoo and Mishi.
She also praised co-star Rizwan Ali Jaffri, sharing how proud she is to see his journey from Shashlik to his more recent role as Fahaam in Bas Tera Saath Ho.
Originally aired in the early 2000s, Shashlik became one of Pakistan's most loved sitcoms thanks to its quirky humour, memorable characters and catchy soundtrack.
Written and directed by Sarmad Khoosat, the series remains a nostalgic favourite for many viewers and continues to be remembered as a classic of Pakistani television.
