The manufacturing companies in Karachi have increased the prices of detergent, soap bars and toothpaste, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Wednesday.

It is learnt that the price of a 1kg bag of detergent has been increased by Rs20 to Rs420, whereas, the price of a half kg of detergent has been increased by Rs10 to Rs210.

Similarly, the price of a big beauty soap bar has been increased by Rs25 to Rs100, whereas, the price of a small beauty soap bar has been increased to Rs50.

Moreover, the price of a big dishwashing soap bar has been increased by Rs3 to Rs48 while the price of the small dishwashing soap bar has been increased to Rs10.

Furthermore, the price of a medium sized toothpaste has been increased by Rs35 to Rs110, whereas, the price of a big sized toothpaste has been increased from Rs200 to Rs210.

Meanwhile, Retailer Association General Secretary Fareed Qureshi alleged that the companies had increased the prices of those items without the permission of the government.

Citizens, on the other hand, complained that the inflation was increasing with each passing day, adding that the government must ensure the sale of those items on officially fixed rates so that the rate of inflation could be reduced.
