Roti rate increased from Rs8 to Rs10 in Lahore
After increasing prices of flours, rates of Rooti (local bread) have unofficially been increased up to Rs10 in Lahore city and suburb areas on Monday.
According to the 24News HD TV channel, the government had fixed the price of Rs8 for a Rooti of 100 grams weight but the Nanbai (bread-makers) started violation.
The Nanbai said that the prices of flour bags have been increased and they were buying it at high prices due to shortage of supply of it in the market.
They said that they had increased the rates of Rooti following the new cost of flour and demanded the administration for increasing prices but no one considered them.
They said the district administration of Lahore had not to hold a meeting with them on the new price of bread.
As per the report, the district administration and price control authorities had failed to enforce the official price of bread.
