High alert sounded in Islamabad

Islamabad Police on Monday put security on high alert in the federal capital hours after the suicide blast at a Peshawar mosque, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Inspector General of Police (IG) Islamabad Dr Akbar Nasir Khan issued orders for heightening security in the federal capital.
The Islamabad Police have tightened checking at the entry and exit points of the federal capital. Moreover, the monitoring is being done through Safe City cameras while snipers have also been deployed at important checkpoints and buildings.
According to a police spokesperson, Islamabad Capital Police are equipped with thermal imaging capabilities.
Police officials have appealed to citizens to cooperate with the checking police.
