Lahore schools caught with 45,000 fake enrollments

Approximately 45,000 fraudulent student enrolments from schools citywide have been identified and removed by the District Education Authority Lahore.

According to the 24NewsHD TV channel, these fraudulent enrolments have been artificially inflating the official student figures and exposing large-scale manipulation of enrolment statistics.

As per the officials, following a comprehensive audit, the fraudulent entries were eliminated, and the number of verified student enrolments has decreased to 575,000.

This shortfall has heightened scrutiny of the Education Authority’s performance, while also raising concerns about its ability to achieve enrolment benchmarks.

The institutions where the fake enrolments occurred have been sent notices and asked to account for the discrepancies.

The Education Authority is under pressure to close the gap and hit its target of 637,000 enrolments by the 31st of October.

The Education Authority reports steady progress, despite setbacks, with enrolment climbing to 616,000 with help from school administrators.

However, still 21,000 more students must be enrolled to fulfil the required target. Officials remain optimistic about meeting the target ahead of the October 31 deadline.
