Policeman martyred in Sukkur assailants' attack

A policeman, Jahanzaib Jatoi, embraced martyrdom when some unknown assailants opened fire on him in Sukkur, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Sunday.

The incident occurred in New Yard Colony, Rohri, Sukkur. Police reported that the martyred officer was on his routine patrol when he observed some suspicious individuals and signalled them to stop.

The accused suddenly opened fire on the policeman, after which he died on the spot. Soon after receiving the report, the police team rushed to the spot.

Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Sukkur Izhar Khan Mughal also reached the hospital and held a meeting with the heirs of the martyred policeman.

He assured them that justice would be delivered to them and the accused would be awarded an exemplary punishment.

Residents are disappointed due to an increase in snatching, murder, and a worsening law and order situation.

Police cordoned off the entire area and started a search operation to apprehend the culprits.
