With regard to the active cases, there are 8,903 people currently infected in the country. Out of these, 467 are receiving treatment in the intensive care units of different hospitals due to their critical condition.

The authorities, meanwhile, administered 32,031 tests on Tuesday with a special focus on the staff members and students of educational institutions. Hence, the overall number of tests conducted since the coronavirus pandemic in the country has now reached 3,514,237.

After being earlier reported as the 12th most affected country in the world, Pakistan is now placed 20th when it comes to the reported. The reason behind this trend is the reduced infection rate in the country and the second wave hitting the different European nations as well as the higher number of cases reported in countries like Saudi Arabia and Iraq.
