It was slow and steady at first but later Pakistani rupee came out gunning against the US dollar in interbank trading on Friday.
The Pakistani rupee continued its surge against the US dollar as it delivered another heavy blow to the greenback in inter-bank trading.
The US dollar after losing Rs1.51 in its value against the Pakistani rupee now reached Rs176 from Rs177.51, the previous day's close.
The downward trend of the US dollar against the Pakistani currency though long overdue continued for the second day running.
Experts said the trading performance of the Pakistani rupee at the end of the last working day of the business week and the last day of the year 2021 would be important for the start of the business activities on the next working day in the year 2022.
On Thursday, the US dollar lost 73 paisas in its value to reach Rs177.61 from Rs178.24.
