Crossing all limits, dacoits in Agra Taj area of Karachi allegedly set a citizen on fire after sprinkling petrol on him for resisting their robbery bid, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Tuesday. 

The man, identified as Shahzad, has been shifted to the Civil Hospital burn unit for emergency treatment.  

According to hospital administration, the injured said alleged robbers were looting him forcibly. As he (Shahzad) offered resistance, they sprinkled petrol and set him ablaze. Hospital administration officials said they were verifying statement of the injured and police had been informed about the incident. 

Shehzad said he was having his sister’s phone when three people came there. “They forcibly snatched mobile and currency notes from me and when I tried to resist the robbery attempt, they set me on fire. I then jumped into water to douse the fire,” he said.
