Four terrorists of a banned outfit were gunned down in an operation conducted by the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) personnel in Quetta, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Saturday. 

A CTD team conducted an intelligence-based operation (IBO) in the Saryab Road area of the provincial capital during which four terrorists were killed after an intense gunbattle with the law enforcement agencies.

A CTD spokesperson said a large quantity of weapons, hand grenades, and literature of a banned organization were recovered from a compound allegedly under the control of the terrorists.

The CTD spokesperson also said that the entire area has been cordoned off and a combing operation was under way to locate more terrorists.

Earlier on January 27, 20276, five suspects, including one wanted in several terrorism cases, were killed during an intelligence-based operation led by the CTD in Pishin district.

At least 10 CTD officials also sustained injuries during the exchange of fire.

The CTD personnel seized a huge quantity of arms, including rocket launchers, hand grenades, and SMGs, and ammunition from their possession.
