Dr Muhammad Mushtaq Khan re-elected JI AJK chief for second term

The General Council of Jamaat-e-Islami Azad Jammu and Kashmir and Gilgit has re-elected Dr Muhammad Mushtaq Khan as the party’s Ameer for a second consecutive term.

Dr Khan secured a majority of votes during a meeting of the General Council and was elected to lead Jamaat-e-Islami Azad Kashmir for the 2026-2029 term.

Secretary of the Election Committee Qazi Shahid Hameed Advocate formally announced Dr Khan’s victory following the completion of the electoral process.

After his re-election, Dr Khan thanked party workers and General Council members for placing their confidence in his leadership.

He pledged to advance the party’s mission more effectively and strengthen its organisational and political activities during his new term.
