Govt again summons PAC meeting after seven months

The National Assembly Public Accounts Committee (PAC) who is non-functional from last seven months but the federal government again decided to convene the meeting of committee, reported 24News HD News Channel on Tuesday.

Sources said that federal government will summoned the meeting of Public Accounts Committee through a requisition.

For this purpose, the federal government after obtaining signatures of members of national assembly submitted the same in Speaker’s office.

It is necessary to mention here that Junaid Akbar, Chairman of the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) in the National Assembly, resigned from the post following directives from Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leadership.

Speaking to the media, he said that implementing the directives of the party leadership is a collective responsibility of all members.

He added that during his tenure as PAC chairman, he ensured transparency in government expenditures and audit reports, and he always kept the public interest as top priority.

PTI Secretary Information Sheikh Waqas Akram also resigned from PAC and the Information Committee. "Following the instructions of our leader Imran Khan, I submitted my resignation this morning from the Public Accounts Committee and the Information Committee," he said on X.
