Kate Middleton and Prince William settle into new Windsor home

The Prince and Princess of Wales, Prince William and Kate Middleton, have officially moved into their new residence, Forest Lodge, in Windsor Great Park, marking what royal insiders describe as a “fresh beginning” for the family after a few challenging years.

The couple, both 43, have relocated to the historic eight-bedroom property along with their children during the school half-term break.

According to The Telegraph, the family has already settled into their new surroundings.

Built in the 1770s, Forest Lodge is a larger home than their previous residence, Adelaide Cottage, which they moved into three years ago.

Their earlier move from Kensington Palace to Windsor was reportedly a trial run to determine whether life outside London suited their growing family.

During an engagement earlier this year, Princess Kate had mentioned that the family’s Windsor move provided “more green space” for the children and allowed them to balance family life with royal responsibilities.

The location also keeps them close to Kate’s parents, Carole and Michael Middleton, who are known to play an active role in their grandchildren’s upbringing.

The move to Forest Lodge is seen as symbolic of a new chapter for the Wales family.

Over the past few years, they have faced significant personal and public challenges including the death of Queen Elizabeth II in 2022 and the subsequent accession of King Charles III, which placed greater royal duties on Prince William.

In 2024, the family also endured a difficult time when both Princess Kate and King Charles were diagnosed with cancer.

While the King continues to receive treatment, Kate announced in January that she was in remission, a moment that brought immense relief to royal supporters.

Now, the family is reportedly looking forward to quieter days surrounded by nature at Forest Lodge.

The residence, formerly known as Holly Grove, offers sweeping views of Windsor Great Park and has long been considered one of the estate’s most serene spots, a perfect retreat for the future king and his family to find peace and privacy.
