Aseefa Bhutto Zardari inaugurates CSSD at Benazir Institute of Urology and Transplantation
First Lady and Member of the National Assembly, Bibi Aseefa Bhutto Zardari, Friday visited the Benazir Institute of Urology and Transplantation (BIUT) in Shaheed Benazirabad, where she reviewed the hospital’s modern medical facilities and inaugurated the Central Sterilization Services Department (CSSD).
Accompanied by Sindh’s Provincial Minister for Health, Dr. Azra Fazal Pechuho, the First Lady inspected various sections of the institute, including the robotic surgery unit, dialysis center, radiology department, and laboratory. Officials briefed her on the hospital’s latest technological advancements and its role in providing free and quality healthcare to patients across the province.
The newly inaugurated CSSD has been established to strengthen infection control and ensure the safe sterilization of surgical instruments, in line with international medical standards. Hospital authorities stated that the addition of this department would enhance the institute’s capacity to perform complex surgical procedures with greater safety and efficiency.
Speaking on the occasion, Aseefa Bhutto Zardari appreciated the efforts of the provincial health department and the medical team at BIUT for equipping the facility with cutting-edge technology to serve patients, particularly those suffering from kidney and urological diseases.
The Benazir Institute of Urology and Transplantation is one of Sindh’s specialized health facilities, dedicated to providing treatment and transplant services to patients from Shaheed Benazirabad and adjoining regions.
