Putin sends condolences to Pakistan over Islamabad terror attack

Russian President Vladimir Putin on Friday expressed condolences to Pakistan, where a suicide attack in Islamabad's mosque claimed 32 lives and injured 169 people on Friday.  

Russian President has sent letters of condolence to President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and expressed deep sorrow over the loss of lives caused by the attack, which occurred during a religious ceremony.

He described the killing of civilians as a stark reminder of the “barbaric and inhumane nature of terrorism.”

The Russian president reaffirmed Moscow’s readiness to further strengthen cooperation with Pakistan in the fight against terrorism, emphasizing the importance of joint efforts to counter extremist violence.

Putin also conveyed Russia’s sincere sympathies to the families and loved ones of those who lost their lives and extended wishes for a speedy recovery to all those injured in the attack.

President Asif Ali Zardari has thanked Russian President Vladimir Putin for his kind letter of condolence on the tragic terrorist attack in Islamabad.

In a post sharing picture of the letter on X, Asif Ali Zardari said Pakistan deeply values Russia's solidarity and shared resolve to combat terrorism in all its forms.
