Humaira Asghar case: Sindh culture minister takes notice; no family member comes forward
Sindh Culture Minister Zulfiqar Ali Shah has taken notice of the mysterious death of actress Humaira Asghar, whose decomposed body was discovered inside her Karachi apartment, 24NewsHD TV channel reported.
The death has sent shockwaves through the entertainment industry, already mourning the recent loss of senior actress Ayesha Khan,
Police confirmed that the body, found in a severely decomposed state, may be around 20 days old.
The SSP concerned stated that Humaira’s mobile phone was recovered from the scene, and the SIM card was registered in her name. Her apartment has since been sealed as part of the ongoing investigation.
Authorities have retrieved the call data record (CDR), which they believe will help determine the timeline of her final interactions and estimate the time of death.
No family members or close associates have yet come forward, deepening the mystery.
Neighbours informed police that Humaira had been living alone since 2018 and was known to be involved in the showbiz industry. They recalled that she would often be away for extended periods due to work and rarely had visitors.
Minister Zulfiqar Ali Shah sought a comprehensive report from DIG South on the matter.
The crime scene unit has collected forensic evidence from the apartment, and police have shifted the body to a hospital for legal formalities.
