Child among five killed as jeep falls into ravine in AJK

Five people, including three women and a child, were killed while 12 others got seriously injured when a jeep carrying wedding guests fell into a ravine in Bagh area of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) on Sunday, 24NewsHD TV channel reported.

The ill-fated jeep was heading from Chaman Kot to Dona area of Muzaffarabad. 

Later, the dead bodies were dispatched to their native village for burial.

Earlier in May 2025, five cops were killed after a police van fell into a ravine in Bagh. The tragic accident occurred on Atoli Peer Road where a police van lost control and plunged into a deep ravine, resulting in the deaths of five police personnel. Rescue teams and senior officials rushed to the scene after receiving a report of the incident. 

Those who lost their lives include Zakir Awan (AD Region Office Poonch), Chaudhry Naveed (Inspector, SHO Khai Gala), Yasir Kayani (Inspector, Telecommunications, PS to DIG Poonch), Ali Bukhari (Sub-Inspector, Reader to DIG Office Poonch), and Constable Faheem.
