Biden hails 'joint commitment to privacy in US-EU data deal

President Joe Biden on Monday said a new legal framework to protect Europeans' personal data in exchanges with the United States demonstrated a strong EU-US commitment to protecting online privacy.

The US leader said the decision, which will almost certainly face legal challenges in the European Union, also "affirms the strength of our transatlantic relationship founded on our shared democratic values and vision for the world."
