Government approves amendments to CSS Probation and Training Rules
Probationers now required to pass training and provincial exams
The federal government has approved amendments to the CSS Professional Groups and Services (Probation, Training, Seniority) Rules, 1990, introducing stricter requirements for probationary officers, reported 24NewsHD TV channel Tuesday.
Following the Prime Minister’s approval, the Establishment Division has issued an official notification confirming the changes.
According to the notification, a new clause has been added, making it mandatory for probationers to pass all training examinations to the satisfaction of their respective institution heads.
Additionally, probationers of the Pakistan Administrative Service (PAS) will now be required to qualify the provincial government’s departmental examination before completing their training.
The amendments aim to enhance training standards and ensure competency among civil service officers before they assume their official roles. The revised rules emphasize rigorous evaluation and performance benchmarks for probationers across all CSS professional groups.
