West Indies Women beat New Zealand by seven wickets in T20 WC thriller

West Indies Women secured a thrilling seven-wicket victory over New Zealand Women in the Women’s T20 World Cup, successfully chasing a target of 163 runs in the final over of a closely contested match, 24NewsHD TV channel reported on Sunday.

According to the report, New Zealand posted a competitive total of 162 for six in their allotted 20 overs after opting to bat first. 

However, their efforts were overshadowed by a magnificent unbeaten innings from Shemaine Campbelle, who anchored the West Indies chase with a match-winning knock of 90 not out.

The Caribbean side maintained composure throughout the pursuit and reached the target on the fifth ball of the final over, finishing on 163 for three to register an important victory in the tournament.

Campbelle’s outstanding innings proved to be the difference between the two sides as she guided her team through crucial stages of the chase and ensured West Indies crossed the finishing line under pressure.

The result keeps the West Indies Women firmly in contention in the competition, while the New Zealand Women were left to rue missed opportunities after posting a challenging total.
