Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi arrives in Mashhad, reaffirms Pakistan-Iran brotherhood

Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi Tuesday arrived in the Iranian city of Mashhad as part of his official visit to Iran, where he was warmly received by Governor General of Khorasan Province, Ghulam Hossein Mozaffari, at Mashhad International Airport.

In a cordial meeting, the two leaders discussed bilateral relations and matters of mutual interest. Governor Mozaffari lauded the goodwill of the Pakistani government and its people, stating, “Your visit to Mashhad is a matter of honour for us. Pakistan has always stood by Iran, especially during difficult times, showing true brotherhood.”

Naqvi praised the Iranian people’s resilience, saying, “The Iranian leadership and people demonstrated unparalleled courage and determination during the war. Pakistan has always stood with its brotherly neighbour and will continue to do so.”

The Interior Minister also acknowledged the Iranian government’s efforts in facilitating Pakistani pilgrims in Mashhad. He noted that decisions taken during the recent Tripartite Conference will significantly ease the travel process for pilgrims heading to both Iran and Iraq.

Naqvi described his trip as “very successful,” adding that he received immense warmth and affection from the Iranian hosts.
