Probe ordered into Dr Abdul Karim Sheikh’s death

The Sindh government has ordered a formal inquiry into the death of Dr Abdul Karim Sheikh, who allegedly committed suicide in Tharparkar, 24NewsHD TV reported on Sunday. 

To conduct the probe, the Health Department Sindh has constituted a three-member inquiry committee under the supervision of the Director General Health Sindh.

The committee also included the Additional Secretary (Technical) of the Health Department and a representative from the Deputy Commissioner’s Office, Tharparkar.

The provincial authorities also suspended four hospital employees and directed them to report to the Health Department until further orders.

Those suspended include staff nurse Manthar Bheel, Sardar Bheel, storekeeper Barkat Ali Hangorjo, and ward boy Rajab.

According to official developments, the Sindh government has decided to thoroughly investigate the circumstances surrounding Dr Abdul Karim Sheikh’s death, which has sparked concern within the local health community.

Authorities have directed the inquiry body to submit its report within three days.

Further details are expected once the inquiry committee completes its investigation and submits its findings to the Sindh government.
