Meryl Streep scores big win at Children's & Family Emmy Awards: Check full list of winners
Hollywood icon Meryl Streep has added another accolade to her illustrious career, securing a major win at the third annual Children’s & Family Emmy Awards.
The Devil Wears Prada star was honored as Children’s Personality for her reading of The Three Questions for Storyline Online. Joining her in the winner’s circle was Christian Slater, who took home the award for Lead Performer in a Preschool, Children’s, or Young Teen Program for his role as Mulgarath in The Spiderwick Chronicles.
Amanda Lawrence also received recognition, winning Supporting Performer in a Preschool, Children’s, or Young Teen Program for her role as Matron Shipley in Malory Towers.
Other big winners included Blue’s Clues & You!, which claimed the award for Best Preschool Series, while Percy Jackson and the Olympians was named Best Young Teen Series.
The National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences hosts the annual event to celebrate excellence in children's entertainment. Adam Sharp, CEO and President of the organization, praised the winners, stating, “The producers and craftspeople recognized today are serving television’s youngest viewers and their families in creative and important ways. It is an honour to celebrate their exceptional work and achievements.”
