The opposition has decided to file a fresh requisition on Monday for a Senate session. Raja Zafarul Haq said the requisition was ready while the motion against NAB and Saleem Mandiwala’s privilege motion were on the agenda.
A couple of days ago, the Senate Secretariat objected to the five-point agenda including the privilege motion by Senate Deputy Chairman Saleem Mandviwalla against the National Accountability Bureau chief and other senior officials.
The requisition has been moved under Article 54 (3) read with Article 61 of the Constitution, carrying signatures of at least 28 members of the opposition parties in the Senate.
Mandviwalla’s motion also includes NAB DG, Investigation Officer of NAB, Registrar and Deputy Registrar of the Company Registration Officer, SECP, Lahore.
The agenda also includes crackdown on opposition workers and constitutional right to protest peacefully, arrest warrants for political activists and democratic norms or obligations. The opposition also questioned GB election rigging.
