CM Maryam approves bridge between Shujaabad, Khangarh

Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif on Friday held a meeting in Lahore with Members of the Provincial Assembly (MPAs) and party ticket-holders from Multan to review development projects and public issues in the district, reported 24NewsHD TV channel. 

During the meeting, the MPAs and ticket holders presented proposals and recommendations for resolving public issues. The CM took note of the suggestions and issued directives for necessary action.

Maryam Nawaz approved the proposal to construct a bridge over the Chenab River between Shujaabad and Khangarh. 

She also ordered the widening and redesigning of Khanewal Road and directed officials to review a proposal to relocate the jail and convert its existing site into a public park.

The MPAs and party ticket holders thanked the chief minister for development projects in Multan and paid tribute to the construction of the Jalalpur Pirwala and Nooraja Bhatta flood embankments in record time. 

Speaking during the meeting, Maryam Nawaz said development was not being limited to a single city but was being carried out across all 40 districts of Punjab.

She elaborated that the Green Bus service was introduced in remote areas of Punjab before being launched in Lahore, while development projects were being executed in proportion to the population for the first time in the province.

The CM said that following Mayo Hospital Lahore, a cancer ablation machine had also been installed at Nishtar Hospital Multan, allowing cancer patients from Multan and other provinces to receive non-surgical treatment.

Maryam Nawaz directed assembly members to remain involved in development projects in their respective constituencies until their completion.

The MPAs expressed support for the chief minister and commended the provincial government’s development and flood rehabilitation measures.

They said the CM and other ministers remained among flood-affected people until rehabilitation was completed and acknowledged measures taken against land-grabbing groups.
