GCU student now announces Lahore-to-Karachi run

Government College University (GCU) student Faizan Ahmed has announced plans to undertake a 1,200-kilometre run from Lahore to Karachi, just a day after completing a 1,100-kilometre endurance run from Lahore to Skardu, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Saturday.

Faizan completed the Lahore-to-Skardu journey yesterday after spending 22 days on the road. He began the run from Lahore on August 28 and travelled through Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Gilgit-Baltistan, covering challenging terrain and steep mountain climbs along the way.

His route took him through Gujranwala, Jhelum, Rawalpindi, Islamabad, Abbottabad, Naran, Babusar Top, Chilas and Raikot before reaching Skardu.

A member of the Falcon Triathlon Club, Faizan dedicated the journey to the martyrs of the Pakistan Army, paying tribute to those who sacrificed their lives in the service of the country.

The run also carried a message aimed at Pakistan’s younger generation. Faizan used his journey to raise awareness about drug abuse, particularly among youth, and encouraged them to pursue healthy and positive activities.

Following the completion of the journey, the Falcon Triathlon Club congratulated Faizan on the achievement and his efforts to use endurance sport to promote awareness, responsibility, and gratitude.

Faizan will now embark on his next challenge, a 1,200-kilometre run from Lahore to Karachi.
