Electricity tariff is likely to go down on account of the monthly fuel cost adjustment in a relief to consumers across Pakistan, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Friday.

The Central Power Purchasing Agency (CPPA) has submitted a request to the National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) for a 65 paisa per unit decrease in electricity prices.

NEPRA is scheduled to hear the request on November 27.

The request pertains to October's fuel adjustment, which will apply to electricity consumers nationwide, including those in Karachi.

Currently, the monthly fuel adjustment for September is in effect across the country.

In September, the electricity prices dropped by 48 paisa on account of fuel cost adjustment.
