Pakistani journalists in London held a protest demonstration against suspension of 24News HD TV transmission by the Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority.

The protest was held under the banner of Journalist Joint Action Committee UK. The journalists expressed their solidarity with the workers of 24News HD TV and demanded the Pemra to restore the licence of TV channel. They termed the Pemra’s action as an attack on freedom of press. They demanded the government to restore 24News HD TV immediately. The protesters also raised voice for the release of Mir Shakeel-ur-Rehman. 

Senior journalists Tahir Khan, Asad Ali Malik, Waqas Ahmed, Azhar Javed, Murtaza Ali Shah, Wajahat Ali Khan, A Haq, Raja Faiz Sultan, Shaukat Dar, Abdul Waheed, Waseem Kazmi, Saeed Niazi, Hamza Azhar, Mushtaq Lashari and others attended the protest demonstration.
