ANF teams thwart dozen attempts to smuggle drugs at airports

The Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) teams have foiled 12 attempts to smuggle narcotics to Gulf countries from various international airports across the country, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Tuesday.
According to ANF spokesperson, in 12 intelligence-based operations, 18 suspects bound for Gulf countries specifically Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, and Bahrain were arrested.
A total of 46.936 kg of narcotics was recovered from the suspects.
The seized narcotics included 37.654 kg of methamphetamine (Ice), 2.500 kg of heroin, and 6.762 kg of narcotic pills, all of which were being smuggled abroad using various methods.
Most of the arrested suspects were traveling to Saudi Arabia to perform Umrah.
