Doctor, wife and three children laid to rest in Karachi

 
The bodies of a doctor, his wife, and their three children, who were found dead in a flat in Karachi’s Ahsanabad area, have been handed over to their relatives and buried.

According to 24NewsHD TV, the bodies were recovered from the residential apartment a day earlier.

The circumstances surrounding the deaths remain unclear, and police are investigating the incident.

The deceased woman, Mahwish’s father, Jamshed Iqbal, and Dr Umar’s elder brother, Abubakar, arrived in Karachi and received the bodies from the Edhi morgue.

Speaking to the media outside the morgue, Abubakar said the family learned about the incident through neighbours and police.

He said they had not been in regular contact with Dr Umar because of family issues.

He said Dr Umar had married within the family and that they knew about only one of his daughters, while they were unaware of the other two children.

The family belongs to Haroonabad in Bahawalnagar, while Dr Umar had been living in Karachi.

Abubakar said, after consultation with the family, they decided to bury the deceased in Karachi as transporting the bodies to Punjab was not possible.

He said it was too early to comment on the circumstances of the deaths, as the police investigation was still underway.

He added that the situation would become clearer after the medical reports are received.
