Former Indian army officer admits Afghan territory used for terrorism in Pakistan

The Modi government is allegedly using Afghan territory and the Taliban regime to advance its anti-Pakistan agenda, according to remarks attributed to retired Indian military officer Colonel Shailendra Singh, reported 24NewsHD TV.

According to the claims, Singh discussed India’s alleged strategy of using Afghan territory to keep Pakistan’s military focused on the Pak-Afghan border.

The former officer was quoted as saying that India would want Pakistan’s military attention to remain concentrated along the western border, while the Pakistani forces remain engaged with groups such as the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) in Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

He was further quoted as saying that supporting groups such as the Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) in Balochistan could form part of the Indian government’s strategy.

The statements have been presented by Pakistani authorities and media as evidence of an alleged India-Afghanistan militant nexus targeting Pakistan.

Pakistan has repeatedly accused India of supporting militant activity against the country, while India has denied such allegations.
