Vehicle used in Kohat Old Police Lines blast preliminarily identified

The vehicle used in the blast at the Old Police Lines in Kohat has been preliminarily identified as investigators continue examining the attack, according to an initial Bomb Disposal Unit report.

The report said unexploded explosive material was recovered from inside the Special Branch building following the attack.

Two improvised explosive devices (IEDs) were found on the ground floor, while a suicide vest was recovered from the first floor.

According to the report, the suicide vest contained four IEDs.

The total quantity of explosive material recovered or identified during the investigation amounted to 869 kilograms, the report said.

Investigators said that following the initial explosion, the attackers entered the Old Police Lines complex and continued the assault.

Further investigation into the attack and the vehicle used in the blast is underway.
