Mohsin Naqvi holds security talks with Iranian Revolutionary Guard's chief

Pakistan’s Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has continued a series of meetings with senior Iranian security officials during his visit to Tehran, 24NewsHD TV reported on Wednesday.

Mohsin Naqvi, who is currently in Iran, held an important meeting with Ahmad Wahidi, the head of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard. The two sides discussed the latest situation in the Middle East.

Earlier on Monday, Naqvi held talks with the Iranian leadership on the changing regional situation and relations between Pakistan and Iran.

Naqvi has been actively involved in mediation efforts alongside Pakistan’s army chief, Field Marshal Asim Munir. 

According to sources cited in the report, discussions were expected to cover attacks by Yemen’s Houthi group on Saudi Arabia’s oil and economic infrastructure, as well as efforts to revive stalled peace talks with the United States.

Islamabad has already warned that the latest escalation in Yemen could further complicate an already difficult regional situation.

The visit marks Naqvi’s sixth trip to Tehran since the United States and Israel launched their war against Iran in February, according to the source.
