Tezgam Express delayed by over four hours ahead of Eid rush

The Pakistan Railways Tezgam Express travelling from Karachi to Rawalpindi was delayed by more than four and a half hours on Monday, causing severe inconvenience to passengers ahead of Eid al-Adha, 24NewsHD TV reported on Monday.

According to railway officials, the train was originally scheduled to depart at 5:30 pm, but the delay left hundreds of passengers stranded at the Karachi Railway Station for several hours.

The station witnessed an unusually heavy rush before Eid as large numbers of people attempted to travel to their hometowns to celebrate the holiday with their families.

Passengers complained of extreme difficulties due to the delay, saying many people, including women, elderly citizens, and children, had been waiting at the station since around 2:00 pm.

Several passengers alleged that train tickets were being sold in the black market at inflated prices during the holiday rush, adding to public frustration.

Travellers demanded that authorities ensure the timely departure of trains and take strict action against individuals involved in excessive rates.
