PM writes another letter to Opposition leader for consultation on new ECP chief

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has sent another letter to Opposition Leader in National Assembly Mahmood Khan Achakzai regarding a proposed meeting and consultations over appointments of the chief Election Commission of Pakistan, reported 24NewHD TV Channel.

Opposition spokesperson Akhunzada Hussain Yousafzai confirmed that the letter has been received.

According to sources, the prime minister has invited Achakzai to the Prime Minister’s House for a meeting.

Yousafzai said the government appeared to be backtracking on commitments made during earlier meetings.

“The letter has been received, and we expect Rana Sanaullah and others to stand by their word,” he said.
