Information minister says Sohail Afridi acts more like TTP commander than CM

Federal Information Minister Attaullah Tarar has said  Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi “looks more like a TTP commander than a chief minister,” alleging that the provincial government was not doing enough to stop militant activity, 24NewsHD TV reported on Friday.

In a statement, he criticised the KP government, accusing CM Sohail Afridi and his colleagues of failing to take effective action against terrorism in the province.

He also alleged that illegal trade in timber and tobacco was taking place in the province, while political figures linked to the provincial government were allegedly involved in illegal gold mining and contracts that, he claimed, were being used to finance terrorists.

Tarar alleged that this was one of the reasons the provincial government was unwilling to take effective action against militants.

He said any provincial government that failed to prevent terrorism and allowed innocent citizens to lose their lives could not be accepted.
