The Election Commission of Pakistan has decided to make the short message service (SMS) on 8300 for confirmation of a vote from eligible citizens free till December 15.

The 24News HD TV channel reported on Friday that the national identity card holders could check their vote through the SMS at 8300 free of cost.

Initially, the total cost of a single SMS for getting information about the vote was Rs2 excluding taxes.

The ECP ensured the citizens that they would immediately get all the details of their vote for free if they messaged on 8300 with the accurate national identity card number.
