Punjab govt decides to establish first anti-drone unit

Punjab Government has decided to establish first anti-drone unit and allocated Rs 3 billion in this regard, reported 24NewsHD TV channel. 

According to details, the unit will comprise radar jamming, directed energy and mobile response, six radar units will be able to detect low and medium altitude drones, whereas jammers will block drone control and navigation signals and will help in uncontrollable drones and land them on the ground or disable them. 

The directed energy weapons have been developed to target dangerous drones and mobile response units will conduct immediate operations and interception and will also provide immediate protection to sensitive places and public gatherings.
