Police arrest two kite dealers during crackdown in Lahore

Police arrested two kite dealers who were members of an inter-provincial gang during a crackdown in Lahore, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

According to details, after receiving credible secret information, police arrested two drug dealers in the Harbanspura area of Lahore while they were delivering kites and string in rickshaw.

The kite dealers were later identified as Kashif and Waqas, and they were arrested near Kotli Pir Abdul Rehman 

Police also impounded the rickshaw which was being used for delivery of kites. Deputy Inspector-General (DIG) of police Faisal Kamran said that police also seized 500 kites and 10 spools of lethal chemical-coated string.

Superintendent of Police (SP) Cantt Usman Aziz Memon said that during initial interrogation both kite dealers admitted that they were supplying kites and string to the people in different district after obtaining location from them online.

The SP Cantt further stated that intelligence-based operations are underway to apprehend the colleagues of the accused.

SP Cantt Usman Aziz Mir said that police, after registering a case against the accused, started an investigation.

Deputy Inspector-General Faisal Kamran directed that a zero-tolerance policy be adopted against the kite sellers, kite manufacturers and kite-flayers.
