Agha Mustafa reveals ‘biggest problem’ plaguing showbiz industry
Pakistani actor Agha Mustafa has pulled back the curtain on what he describes as one of the biggest problems plaguing the entertainment industry, claiming that actors often struggle to receive their payments on time and are left without clear answers about when their dues will be cleared.
A viral video from the actor’s latest interview has been making the rounds on social media, in which Agha candidly discussed the financial challenges faced by performers working in the industry and shared his own experience of allegedly waiting months for payment.
Speaking about the issue, Agha said that getting paid on time is one of the biggest problems in the showbiz industry, adding that actors often cannot even raise their voices against the system.
Sharing a personal example, the actor revealed that one of his dramas wrapped up in June, but he was still waiting for his payment months later.
He said, “The biggest problem in this industry is that you never get paid on time. And you can’t even raise your voice against that system.”
Agha went on to explain that a drama he worked on had concluded in June, yet he had still not received his payment by September. He also claimed that he had not been given a clear response regarding when the outstanding amount would be paid.
The actor further alleged that the issue is not limited to him, claiming that payment delays are experienced by many actors unless they have reached the highest level of stardom.
According to Agha, only a handful of major stars are in a position where payment-related matters may work differently, while others continue to face uncertainty over their dues.
His candid remarks have since sparked discussion on social media, with Pakistani celebrities including Ayesha Omar and Ahmed Ali Butt appearing to agree with the concerns he raised.
Social media users have also voiced concern over the alleged payment practices, with many discussing the financial uncertainty actors can face despite their work being completed and aired.
