Prime Minister Imran Khan has constituted a National Coordination Committee (NCC) on Agriculture, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Wednesday.

According to the notification, Special Assistant for Food Security Jamshed Iqbal Cheema will be the convener of the committee.

The committee will ensure the implementation of the Agricultural Transformation Plan (ATP).

The committee will also seek the services of experts.

Other members of the committee are Secretary Food Security Dr Abid Silhari and members of Ministry Finance, Ministry for Industry and Production, Ministry for Trade.

The committee will formulate recommendations for the revival of agriculture, the notification reads.

The newly appointed committee on agriculture will remove hurdles in implementing the Agriculture Transformation Plan.

Earlier, Prime Minister Imran Khan launched the Kisan (farmer) Card in Multan and termed it as a step in moving towards modern agriculture that would transform and change Pakistan.

In the distribution ceremony of the Kisan Cards in Multan Imran Khan hailed the Kisan Card as an amazing concept and would be beneficial for farmers because farmers are actually the backbone of Pakistan.
