Finance Ministry releases monthly financial outlook report on sate of economy

Finance Ministry has released monthly financial outlook report on the sate of country’s economy, reported 24NewsHDTV Channel. 

During the firsts month of the financial years 2025-26, inflation rate to remain between 3.5 to 4.5 as in the wake of recent rains and flood, the production and supply of essential items could be damaged. 

The report said economic recovery is expected to continue at the beginning of fiscal year 2026. Large-scale manufacturing output is likely to increase in June 2025. Ministry of Finance also expected increase in raw material imports. The remittances, exports and imports are also likely to increase in July 2025. 

Ministry of Finance said during the last financial year, current account remained surplus, foreign direct investment increased by 4.7pc. Moreover, State Bank of Pakistan reserves recorded an increase in one year. According to report, remittances increased by 26.6 percent to $38.3 billion in the last fiscal year. Exports increased by 4.2 percent, while imports increased by 11.1 percent. The exports in the fiscal year 2024-25 were $32.295 billion. Imports in the previous fiscal year were $59.8 billion. 

The foreign direct investment increased by 4.7pc to $2.46 billion in the last fiscal year. The report said current account surplus was $2.11 billion in the fiscal year 2024-25 and central bank reserves increased from $9 billion to $14.5 billion. 

The average annual inflation fell from 23.5 percent to 4.5 percent last fiscal year and FBR revenue recorded a 26.3 percent increase last fiscal year. The report added that non-tax revenue increased by 62.7 percent during the last fiscal year.
