Hamza Ali Abbasi denies any role in sister Fazeela’s money-laundering case

Pakistani actor Hamza Ali Abbasi has issued a formal statement clarifying that he has no involvement in the ongoing money laundering investigation against his sister, Dr. Fazeela Abbasi.

Taking to Instagram, he shared an updated disclaimer for clarity, captioning it: “Updated version of my statement for more clarity. Thank you.”

In the statement, Hamza emphasized that he is not under investigation, is not a party to the case, and has no connection to his sister’s legal or professional matters.

He expressed full support for Dr. Fazeela, calling her a highly accomplished professional and stating that her integrity deserves recognition.

Hamza also requested that the media and public refrain from expecting comments from him, as the matter is currently sub-judice and belongs entirely to his sister.

He warned that any further association of his name with the case in media coverage could compel him to take legal action.

The clarification comes as Dr. Fazeela Abbasi faces serious allegations of large-scale money laundering, with reports suggesting transfers of around Rs25.2 billion to accounts in Dubai and the United States.

Investigators claim a turnover exceeding Rs25 billion across 22 accounts linked to her name, raising questions about undeclared income.

The Islamabad sessions court recently rejected her interim bail plea, and special police teams have been formed to track the accused as the investigation continues.

Hamza’s statement reinforces that his professional and personal life remain entirely separate from his sister’s legal troubles, while also showing solidarity with her during this high-profile controversy.
