Putin, Saudi crown prince discuss rising Middle East tensions

Russian President Vladimir Putin and Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman held a phone call on Tuesday to discuss the deteriorating situation in the Middle East and rising regional tensions, 24NewsHD TV reported.

According to Reuters news agency, citing the Kremlin, the two leaders exchanged views on the Middle East situation and discussed the need for a political and diplomatic solution to the ongoing conflicts.

They also stressed the importance of ensuring safe and uninterrupted maritime traffic through the Bab el-Mandeb and Strait of Hormuz, two key waterways for global trade and energy supplies.

Putin and Mohammed bin Salman also expressed concern over the worsening military and political situation in Yemen and called for a swift end to hostilities and a diplomatic settlement.
