Petrol price cut by Rs1.93, diesel by Rs4.21 per litre

The federal government has reduced the ex-depot prices of petrol and high-speed diesel for Sept. 24 under the petroleum pricing mechanism, according to a notification issued by the Petroleum Division.

The price of high-speed diesel has been reduced by Rs4.21 per litre, bringing it down from Rs418.96 to Rs414.75 per litre.

The price of motor spirit, commonly known as petrol, has been cut by Rs1.93 per litre, lowering it from Rs392.05 to Rs390.12 per litre.

The revised prices will take effect from Sept. 24, 2026.

The Petroleum Division said the changes were necessitated by global developments, including fluctuations in Platts rates, premiums and other incidentals.
