FIA reclaims Rs2b Evacuee Trust property in Karachi

The FIA Anti-Corruption Circle Karachi has reclaimed Evacuee Trust property worth Rs. 2 billion in Bhim Pura, Nishtar Road, reported 24NewsHD TV channel. 

During the operation, the FIA sealed 160 shops and seven warehouses located on Evacuee Trust Property No. LR-2/1/2 and handed over their possession to the Evacuee Trust Property Board (ETPB).

According to the FIA spokesperson, tenants occupying the property had accumulated debt of approximately Rs. 100 million. The FIA said that the operation was conducted to clear illegal occupation of Evacuee Trust property and safeguard government assets.
The spokesperson added that operations by the FIA and relevant authorities to protect government and Evacuee Trust properties are continuing.

Previously, Evacuee Trust property worth more than Rs. 60 million had also been reclaimed in Karachi’s Jodia Bazaar, the spokesperson added.
